Impromptu Thoughts

Text-Over-PortraitA a creative person who often works in isolation, COVID-19 life has effected me differently. The “staying at home” part was not a problem, but some aspects of my career forced me to reinvent and use other skillsets to keep paying the bills. Every day I decide what steps I am going to take to move my life forward and make another day productive. The creative industry is still reinventing itself as people find new ways to consume music and art. Creatives must figure out what those needs are, how to fill those needs, and meet the demands of our ever changing market.

Our digital world has become supersaturated with websites, social media, apps and technology that make life easier. Too many choices creates a huge problem! Everyone uses different platforms, different apps. What platforms should I use to promote myself and get paid?  A day of research usually leaves me with more questions than answers. Fortunately, I know I’m not alone. People are resilient and flexible so the best thing to do is just start somewhere. Pick an app, platform, whatever and just get something done and put it out there. If it doesn’t work, try something else.

I hope you are all staying safe and healthy, and my warmest blessings and prayers to any of you who are ill or suffering.

Warmest Regards,
